Statement of Faith

1. We believe in one God eternally existing in three persons – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit – who is infinitely good, great, and relational. (Genesis 1; John 1)

2. We believe God created the heavens and the earth and all that exists in them. God continues to care for and govern his creation, working out His purposes for all He has made and is worthy to be worshipped. (Psalm 121; Psalm 33)

3. We believe in the divine inspiration of Holy Scriptures – the sixty- six (66) books of the Protestant Bible composed of both Old and New Testaments – and their consequent entire trustworthiness and supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct. (Psalm 119; 2 Timothy 3:16-17)

4. We believe that God created people, male and female, in His image who then sinned and brought about a universal sinful nature through the first couple, Adam and Eve, bringing every person under God’s wrath and condemnation. (Genesis 3; Romans 3:1-20)

5. We believe that God the Son was sent to earth incarnated in the person of Jesus Christ who was begotten of the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, fully God and fully man, was crucified, died, resurrected bodily on the third day, and ascended into heaven as the only Mediator between God and man. (John 3:16; 1 Timothy 2:5-6)

6. We believe in the substitutionary sacrifice of Jesus Christ at the cross for our sins as the sole ground of redemption from the guilt, penalty, and power of sin for all who believe in Jesus as their Saviour and Lord. (Isaiah 53; Romans 10:1-13)

7. We believe in the justification of the sinner by the grace of God through faith alone in Christ alone crucified and risen from the dead. (Romans 3:21-4:25; Ephesians 2:1-10)

8. We believe in the ministry and personality of God the Holy Spirit poured out at Pentecost to reveal Christ to men in the regenerating, indwelling, and sanctifying of their souls guaranteeing their eternal inheritance with God. (Acts 2; Ephesians 1:13-14)

9. We believe in the unity and priesthood of all true believers, who together in love form the one universal Church, the Body of which Christ is the Head, commissioned to make disciples while living as salt and light through word and deed in this world. (John 17; Matthew 28:18-20)

10. We believe that baptism is immersion of a believer in water, in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; setting forth the essential facts in redemption – the death and resurrection of Christ; also the essential facts in the experience of the believer – death to sin and resurrection to newness of life; and that the Lord’s supper is a commemoration of the Lord’s death until He returns. (Colossians 6:1-14; 1 Corinthians 11:23-26)

11. We believe in the personal, visible return of the Lord Jesus Christ and subsequent judgment of the righteous to eternal life and the unrighteous to eternal death. (Matthew 24-25; Acts 1:1-11)
